Jali Aged Care
Our Elders are precious and valued in our communities. They are the recognised custodians of our sacred and cultural knowledge, cultural practices and the cultural values with which we as younger people need to grow and raise our families. They have passed on this knowledge to us as they see appropriate, as the next generation we need to ensure that we continue to be respectful as a well maintained a thriving modern Aboriginal community.
We recognise that our Elders grew up in a time that restricted their access to our culture and language and have survived the forced separation of children from our families to become stronger for future generations. We will never forget the strength and resilience of our Elder who continue to strengthen our culture, language and values.
Yarrabee was initially established in 2000. This establishment was recognition of the growing need to support our Elders with home and community care services with support to help them remain at home longer, with their families and community. Jali LALC has managed Yarrabee since inception.
